Maria Ireland

Maria is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has worked at the intersection of education and international affairs throughout her career, both in the United States and abroad.

Before graduate school, Maria worked on The Fletcher School at Tufts University’s mid-career Global Master of Arts Program (GMAP) and in its Office of Executive Education. Previously, she supported faculty-led study abroad programs at the international education non-profit CIEE; taught high school English in Sicily on a Fulbright grant; and worked in Jerusalem for the NGO Seeds of Peace, where she coordinated workshops and fellowships for educators from the Middle East, South Asia, and the United States.

Maria has a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Boston College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. As an undergraduate, she co-chaired the National Jesuit Student Leadership Conference and received grants to conduct research and study abroad in Europe and the Middle East.

She is honored to be a part of The Fig Tree Circle and to call the Core Team and fellow Circle members colleagues and friends.
