James Ford lives and works in Maine. He moved there in 1980 from Hartford Connecticut to work in the private sector. In 2004 he transitioned to the school system and became certified in Social Studies and Special Education in 2008. He is currently out of a role as a teacher and is now a Restorative Practice Coordinator for Lewiston Public Schools, which is the 2nd largest school district in Maine and sits on the Maine State Board of Education.
As a special educator, James has always looked for ways to reach his students which lead to non-traditional teaching and learning. He attended “Educating in a Diverse Democracy”, and this gave him more fuel to reimagine education.
