Doc Miller

Doc Miller has been a social justice educator for over the past fifty years.  He spent thirty-six years as a middle school social studies teacher in both urban and suburban communities.  Beyond that, he has worked with Facing History and Ourselves, Seeds of Peace, Research for Better Teaching, and a number of universities, training teachers throughout the US, as well as in South Africa, Northern Ireland, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Colombia, and Panama.  He views education as a way to cultivate thoughtful, informed, competent, creative, and compassionate students, who, filled with a sense of wonder and an appreciation of life in all its diversity, see themselves as active participants in creating a more just society.
